How do you prepare?

Every audience is different, and my commitment to you is to offer compelling and relevant information. So, I speak with several attendees about one month in advance—with your help, we'll identify three who represent a cross-section of the audience. My goal during these conversations is to understand their specific challenges and opportunities, and what they hope to get out of the conference/event overall. This guides my own industry research and helps me empathize with my audiences in order to tailor my presentations to best address their needs. I'll also participate in social media campaigns and online discussion groups to help promote the event and generate additional interest in my keynote. When schedules permit, I like to arrive the day before and meet attendees socially to hear what is on their minds and get them excited about my presentation.
